About this site
For 37 years, coarse angling has been my main passion. In 2011 I moved north to Newcastle — and faced a blank slate. Where do you actually fish around here?
Starting fresh in the North East meant bouncing between outdated club websites, scattered Facebook pages, and satellite maps just to find decent water. As a software engineer, that frustration was the catalyst for NE Coarse Fishing.
The goal: a dedicated hub for pleasure anglers across the region — venues, clubs, tackle shops, and live session logs, all in one place. The real value comes from the community building it together.

Day-ticket & club waters
Club stillwater at Ouston Springs near Ouston / Pelton, managed by Birtley ROF Angling Club (BROFAC). Fishing is from designated pegs only. Access is via the official car park above Ouston Springs Farm (past the Red Lion on Ouston Lane) — no dropping gear beyond the farm entrance, and the railway embankment is out of bounds.

Small stillwater on the former Burradon Colliery site between Burradon and Camperdown, North Tyneside — beside the old Seaton Burn / Killingworth waggonway corridor. Local anglers have described it as a mixed pleasure water with carp (historically to mid-teens) and silvers. Access and ownership are not commercially managed like a day-ticket complex, so confirm current rules and rights before fishing.

Easington District Angling Society’s club lake on Moor Lane, Wingate. About 3.5 acres of water in an 8-acre site, with around 30 pegs including disabled spots near the car park. Mixed stock of carp, bream, tench, perch, roach, rudd, crucian, gudgeon and ide. Members only — no day tickets.

Day- and night-ticket mixed coarse fishery at Green Lane Farm, Scorton (near Catterick), North Yorkshire — also known as Green Lane Fisheries. Two lakes (Main Lake and Snake Lake) stocked with carp, tench, bream, roach, rudd, perch, ide and barbel. Toilets on site; net dip at the gate.

Two-pond nature-reserve fishery in Billingham managed by Billingham Angling Club. Former clay brick workings flooded by a spring; the large pond was stocked with Loch Leven trout in the early 20th century and is now a mixed coarse water. Small pond (~1 acre) offers day tickets; large pond (~6–8 acres) is members only. Disabled-access pegs on both waters.

Purpose-built 3.5 acre specimen lake at Carlton Village, Stockton-on-Tees — “Where Legends are Caught and Made”. Around 12 named pegs (11 bookable at once; The Rush offers pitches A or B). Double pegs for two anglers: Corn Crake (2), The Rush (4) and Stowaway (5). Stock includes double-figure carp to around 32lb and wels catfish to around 47lb. Day/night sessions are booked online by peg; CCTV car park, toilets and on-site bait shop.
